Snow Day! (Blogmas 4)

Image
It's Snowmageddon out there! It felt like Christmas morning, waking up to a blanket of snow over everything outside! Snow is like nature's glitter, it makes everything more beautiful, fun, and sparkly. This was our first snow in our new home and Townes' first snow he could play in! That makes it a triple burst of excitement! First snow at our sweet little space! The snow makes it sparkle! Townes had the biggest grin on his face as we made our way out into the winter wonderland. It felt like my heart was going to explode I was so happy and excited. He started with one little finger and progressed to a foot, then progressed to falling face first into the snow. He went from zero to eighty in two seconds. I sat him in a large pile of snow standing up, and it came up to his waist, so he couldn't even walk in it. While holding my hand, he could take several steps, and enjoyed walking through it. I could tell he was wishing he could bounce around in it like

December Bullet Journal Spread (Blogmas 3)

Image
I finally finished my December Bullet Journal spread! (5 days late, but finished!) I did the last bit after putting a sleepy boy to bed and watching the cheesiest Christmas movies on Netflix. Nothing gets you in the Christmas mood like watching the ridiculous plots and horrific drama. December, as you know by now, is my favorite, so I wanted this spread to capture the love I have for the month itself. I added a few pages more than normal, turned the Christmas Spirit all the way up, and got to doodling. **warning and apologies in advance. I am half asleep writing this blog post, but I am not about to be another day behind on Blogmas.  The show must go on. I am determined and excited about December. Sleep will not stop me. I will probably find some embarrassing typos and errors on here later. I will probably cringe at my rambling, but I am here and we are doing this.  First up, the cover page! I love the appearance of mistletoe, I think it is so beautiful. I saw an idea

Smells Like Christmas (Blogmas 2)

Image
I was so mad when I realized I completely missed Bath & Body Works' 3- wick candle sale. They were completely sold out online by 11:00 AM and I had a sick baby with two teeth coming in. I wouldn't dare taking him into that madness, it would be a nightmare and I was guaranteed to break at least 4 candles. I put on my big girl pants and told myself I didn't need my house to smell like the Spirit of Christmas this year... (cue big tears)  So, I am here to provide you two, wonderful and inexpensive ways I quickly solved my conundrum.  Alternative One: A(n) (Amazing) Cheaper Candle! I love Bath & Body Works as much as the next person, but it is very rare that I have 22 dollars to drop on a candle, even if it smells like Michael BublĂ©'s voice.   Even when they are 50% off that's still more than 10 dollars a pop, plus tax. That's still iffy when you have Christmas presents to buy and babies to feed. Yes, this most recent sale was 8 dollars a can

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year (Blogmas 1)

Image
December is here! If you know me, at all, you know that December is my absolute favorite time of year. I love the cold, the sweaters, the hot chocolate, the desserts, the gift-wrapping, the snow (fingers crossed), the wool socks, the movies, the family time, the gift giving, the decorations, the smells, oh I could go on for hours. Winter is when I start to get excited, but December is when I am ecstatic.  I haven't blogged in 2 months! I know, that's a really long time, when I had committed to blogging once a week. LOL. I am not so concerned about my blogging timeline any more. I know I have a lot going on, and if I find time to sit and write, cool. If I don't have time, cool. I have had a great two months. A lot has happened. Thanksgiving was wonderful and my best friend, cousin, and their angel baby dogs stayed at our house! It was so great having them here, Townes adored them and was so thrilled to have the dogs in our house. I have to say I was the most excited

A Pretty Good Monday

I feel like I begin every blog post the way all my diary entries started as a child, It's been way too long since I last wrote! It has been a crazy, hot September. September is filled with birthdays, we had family staying in our home, school has been crazy, and I haven't seen my husband too much either between our opposite schedules. Every time I had a free minute, I always felt like there was something I should be doing. I need to clean, I need to bathe my son, I need to cook, I need to visit friends or family, I should be reading my book before it's due, I should, I should, I should. I told myself I shouldn't write a blog post when there were other things I should be using my time for. Then today I miraculously remembered an important thing. Writing makes me feel good. When I sit and drool while turning my brain off, I lie to myself and think that is me-time, allowing me to recharge. When I actually take time for myself, is when I take time to do things th

Book Review(s)!

Image
I read three books this month! I am so proud of myself. I started back reading with a bang and pushed myself to read. I hate I can't listen in the car any more or I would have easily finished another one. I am also pretty pleased overall at the books I did read. There are all very different, but so good!  I haven't started September out with the push that I did in November and I'm not sure if that is because of the book I'm reading now or because I have a teething baby on my hands. Townes has had a rough couple of nights. (Which is usually when I get my reading done.) Tonight is actually the first night he's let me put him to bed easy in about 5 days. He is an amazing sleeper and when it's a fight to put him to bed or nap, I know something is up. The poor guy has 2 top teeth busting through at the same time and it has him all sniffly and pitiful.  Still cooler than I could ever  wish to be, however. Other than teething, life has been pretty ordinar
